Who we are
PLACEHOLDER is a web design and development studio. We build websites for our clients and host and maintain them afterwards. This notice covers the personal data we handle on this site and through the client dashboard.
What we collect
- Enquiries. If you use the project or contact form, we store your name, email address, business name, and whatever you write to us, so that we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
- Client accounts. If you are a client, we store your name, email address, and the activity needed to run your account, such as invoices, support threads, and sign-in times.
- Site usage. We keep server logs, including IP addresses, for security and for diagnosing faults.
Data belonging to our clients
When we host a client's website, that site may collect data from its own visitors, such as enquiry form submissions or orders. For that data our client is the controller and we are a processor: we hold it on their behalf, act on their instructions, and do not use it for anything else. Each client's data is kept in its own isolated database schema rather than mixed with other clients'.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
- We never see or store payment card numbers. Checkout is handled by a payment provider and card details go directly to them.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted after twelve months. Client records are kept for the life of the engagement and then for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Server logs are kept for thirty days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@example.com and we will respond within one month.
Changes
If this notice changes materially we will say so on this page and, for clients, in the dashboard.
